Role Play Packs

Role play is a very important part of a child’s education. The imagination is a powerful tool which can be encouraged by providing children with opportunities to play. Children can be given spaces, scenarios, props & the support they need to explore their real life or imaginary worlds. Imaginative play not only aids intellectual development but also improves children’s social skills & their creativity. In addition it gives children a chance to play out events that they have observed or experienced in real life.

We’ve put together the following role play packs that contain toys, dressing up and resources - everything you will need to set up a themed role play area in your setting or home! The resources include signs and props from Menus to X-Rays as well as key word labels. If there is a role play pack you’d like to see on our shelves, please speak to the team - we more than likely have the toys to make it up!!!

Role Play Toys and Accessories

In addition to our themed Role Play Packs, we also have a huge range of other role play toys and accessories. We have everything you might need to accessorise your ‘Home Corner’, shop, cafe, restaurant or baby area!

You might find that your little one loves to ‘help’ around the house and takes an interest in watching the household jobs being done. Or maybe they love to ‘help’ at the shops by wanting to interact with the shopkeeper. While most of us adults have very little interest in these daily chores, children adore participating. They want to imitate what they see in the world around them and they learn so much by doing so!

Dolls & Accessories

Playing with dolls allows children to model what they’ve seen or re-enact what’s been done to them or a sibling - your child is practicing taking care of a ‘loved-one’. They develop their sense or empathy as well as gaining another’s perspective the more they play in this way. A doll is a toy that naturally lends itself to pretend play, making use of creativity and imagination. The potential for speech and language growth is immense and playing with dolls is useful in developing your child’s sense of grooming and hygiene. By clothing a doll your child learns the mechanics and sequence of dressing; steps they’ll be able to translate to themselves. Similarly bathing a doll reinforces your own bathing routines. Understanding, compassion, kindness and caring are qualities we all want to see more of in each other—as children or adults. Begin early and encourage doll play with your children!
